You don’t need your wallet or purse when you’re on board the cruise since your room key serves as a debit card and ID as you sail around. But you also won’t have something to carry that key card if you aren’t carrying a wallet or purse, so what do you do?
Plus, even if your swimsuit had pockets you don’t want your key card getting wet, because then it could stop working and you’ll have to wait in line at the customer service counter for a new key card.
Easy solution: a lanyard and key card holder, but get it in advance, because the price is way higher in the gift store on the cruise ship.
I like the lanyard and key holder from Cruise On, because it looks good, it’s durable, and it had some key features:
- Detachable clasp for quick and easy removal from the lanyard
- Retractable reel to extend cruise ID badges as far as needed while cruising or at port
- Waterproof pouch
- Fun, nautical theme
Another reason to get the lanyard and key card holder – kids lose their cards all the time, and this will help keep them in an obvious place when they are on their neck and when they are taken off in the room.
Be sure to get a lanyard and key card holder for you and anybody else you are cruising with for your next cruise.
