I took a Thanksgiving week cruise on the Royal Caribbean Anthem of the Seas out of New Jersey back in 2016 and I had some positive interactions with their social media team.
One of the evenings on the ship I wanted to shoot pool in a bar and when I went to grab a pool cue all of the available sticks were broken – no tips, just hard plastic.
And there was a ball missing from our table. I was annoyed and Tweeted @RoyalCaribbean.

They replied quickly that they were alerting somebody on the ship and they would be reaching out to me. That was cool – I was glad to have that quick, courteous response.
Later on, I got a call in my cabin from the cruise director. I figured that he had good news that things were all fixed up at the pool tables.
Nope, he was pissy with me and insisted everything there was in perfect shape and no balls were missing. Weird since I shared a picture of a broken pool cue.
I went up again and each table had a complete set of balls and the pool cues were fixed. And I had a bad taste in my mouth from the experience with the cruise director.
